Paris Bakery - Commercial Drive

The Paris Bakery specializes bánh mì in boasts their own baked bread. But are they good? I ordered the lemongrass chicken bahn mi.

The Components

Bread

The bread was pretty good! Fresh, and notably softer than most other bánh mì I’ve tried.

Veg

The veg hit the mark for me. Pickled carrot & daikon, fresh cucumber, fresh cilantro. No jalapeno was one drawback.

Spread

I didn’t note anything outstanding about the spread unfortunately. Since I ordered the lemongrass chicken, it seems I didn’t get any pate. My girlfriend got the BBQ pork bahn mi, and she said that the pate was good.

Meat

I ordered the lemongrass chicken. I thought the chicken was juicy but not particularly flavorful, but that might just be to my tastes.

Overall Impression

The Paris Bakery is a no-frills location to receive a cheap sandwich. While their bread and veg is good, your choice of the different meats (and accompanying spreads) will dictate whether your sandwich is just okay or potentially great.

Recommendation

Worth going to if you have a hankering. Order the BBQ pork!
